Capsule Description

This one is a freaky horror-type anime. It's really hard to explain, but I'll try. Once upon a time somewhere in Japan there was a bright beam of light that shone out in the middle of the night for a brief moment and then flickered out. Since then strange things have been happening to people, causing many deaths. People say that Boogiepop, whom they affectionately refer to as "Death" is responsible for it all.

This is told in such a unique style. The show takes place over a few weeks or so (it's hard to tell and I haven't seen all of it yet) and each episode tells a story from a different point in time from a different persons perspective. You will sometimes see the same event from someone elses perspective and gain new insight into what's going on. It's very cool to catch little things from previous episodes popping up now and then. As an interesting note, this was adapted from a series of novels rather than manga (comics) like most anime.
