Princess Tutu for Men

You never hear the girls squealing about ballet series [[Princess Tutu]] Only the guys.

Specifically, one guy... who will remain [[David Shenosky|nameless]]. Should you wish to know who, simply ask "What time is it?" After Mai Hime... you will hear him.

This may be true, but the guys don't squeal like the girls during KKM.

For some reason the above contributor believes that not squealing to an anime only lightly salted with homosexual tendencies makes them more of a man. However, since they still squeal (like little girls) at the mere mention of an anime that is based around fairytales and ballet, sugar, spice and everything nice, etc., they really don't have much of a claim to machismo.

Although since Princess Tutu is totally bad ass and about fairy tales when they were still SCARY, I'd say there's a fair bit less of that "sugar, spice, etc" than you say. :)

I'm a fifth year (as of fall quarter 2007) computer science major from southern California (though I was born in New Mexico and moved about quite a bit due to the vagaries of an Air Force life). I first started coming to Minna in fall of 2003, my first year at Poly. I didn't run for office for my second year, but I ended up being secretary for half of the 2004-2005 year anyway. After that, I ran for 2005-2006 vice president but was beaten by Erin, then ran for secretary and won. The next year, I ran for 2006-2007 vice president and won. Finally, I stepped down from the VP position for 2007-2008 and ran again for secretary (for the weekly emails are my true love) and won.

My favorite anime is Twelve Kingdoms and I love the novels. My favorite manga is Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, though I also have soft spots for xxxHolic, FAKE, and One Piece. My favorite non-Japanese books are Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones and Last Battle by Bill Bridges. I play Warcraft III and Starcraft and my favorite console game is a four-way tie between Final Fantasy VII, Breath of Fire III, Breath of Fire IV, and Drakengard 2 (my guilty pleasure). I also roleplay (via AIM and on forums) excessively and read an awful lot of fanfiction. I'm mildly proficient in reading and writing Japanese, but I'm pretty much only on par with a kindergartener.

My handle at conventions is Tenteki, and I regularly attend Fanime and Anime Expo.

Princess Tutu

Duck is just that--an ordinary duck. But one day, she gains the ability to transform into Princess Tutu to gather the shattered pieces of prince Mytho's heart and fight against the monster raven who broke it.

This is a downright adorable show...and it stays that way, even though it starts to get dark towards the end. The characters are almost all likeable (except for a few minor ones) and the story is beautiful.

Annalise has been a srong leader and a possitive influence for the club. She is able to make friends very easily with everybody there, making her a natural leader.

The fangirl that she is doesn't stop with anime. She also has taken over leadership for [[Minna no Manga]], and while I haven't been able to attend (for obvious reasons) I read her weekly news letters. This side project is obviously going strong.

As if club wasn't a full time job, she has her own web-comic which she still updates regularly.

I'm a fourth year (as of fall quarter 2006) computer science major from southern California (though I was born in New Mexico and moved about quite a bit due to the vagaries of an Air Force life). I first started coming to Minna in fall of 2003, my first year at Poly. I didn't run for office for my second year, but I ended up being secretary for half of the 2004-2005 year anyway. After that, I ran for 2005-2006 vice president but was beaten by Erin, then ran for secretary and won. The next year, I ran for 2006-2007 vice president and won.

My favorite anime (currently) is a tie between Blood+ and Twelve Kingdoms, and I really desperately want the Twelve Kingdoms translated novels (which are coming, apparently!). My favorite manga is Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, though I also have soft spots for xxxHolic, FAKE, One Piece, and Wild Adapter. I play World of Warcraft and my favorite console game is Final Fantasy VII. I also roleplay excessively and read an awful lot of fanfiction. I'm mildly proficient in reading and writing Japanese, but I'm pretty much only on par with a retarded kindergartener.

I have to say I pegged you for officer material within two months of meeting you, and was really dissapointed when you didn't run. While I highly respect [[David Bathe]], it was the right decision for him to leave, and I'm glad that you stepped up to the responsibility of Secretary that year!

The BIG BREAK, also known as the "Big-Ass Break", is intended to be a time for the members to talk and (maybe) make the club a more social entity.

Most announcements are made during this time, and there are often AMVs and other odds and ends that get shown as well.
