Hosaka vs. Kaiji

In the third round of SaiGAR 2008, Minami-ke's Hosaka faced off against Kaiji's titular character Kaiji in a show down of epic proxyfag proportions. In the end, Hosaka barely beat out Kaiji but it didn't matter because SaiGAR ended up being canceled anyway.

However, the reprocussions of this fight still leave the club in tension as the former Kaiji and Hosaka fans will still butt heads over which is the more gar character. (It is common knowledge, actually, that Kaiji is a wussy, sniveling crybaby who will make you pancakes; not gar in the least. By comparison, Hosaka is so gar that his shirt comes off on its own; he would gladly throw away his life to remove Haruka from harm's way, if need be. On the flip side, while Hosaka is busy molesting fish, Kaiji is involved with epic levels of dangerous gambling. Does Hosaka bet his own body when the need is great? No. He's too busy making his shirt burst off and doing horrible things to fish. Kaiji may cry, but those are manly tears. Manly. And the fact that he can be a super badass in a battle for his life one second and make you delicious pancakes the next is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of awesome. Also, Hosaka fanS? I'm a Graphic Communication graduate who specialized in Design Reproduction Technology. I'm a Pokémon child, I found out about anime through it when I was in sixth grade. My favorite genres include fantasy, adventure, and detective/mystery. My favorite series include RahXephon, Generator Gawl, Ayatsuri Sakon, and Kino no Tabi. I'm also a sucker for Digimon series. Currently I am engrossed with the series Baccano! and Dennou Coil.

My hobbies include drawing, collecting manga in all sorts of languages, and learning about the manga industry. I also love to cosplay, and do so at almost every possible occasion.

While my dream job is to get one of my comics professionally printed, I'm currently pretty happy working for Viz Media as a freelance Letterer/Touch-up Artist.

== What Others Say ==

Annalise has been a srong leader and a possitive influence for the club. She is able to make friends very easily with everybody there, making her a natural leader.

The fangirl that she is doesn't stop with anime. She also has taken over leadership for [[Minna no Manga]], and while I haven't been able to attend (for obvious reasons) I read her weekly news letters. This side project is obviously going strong.

As if club wasn't a full time job, she has her own web-comic which she still updates regularly.

Brave Story

*Brave Story is about a young boy named Wataru who goes into another world to change his fate and save his mother.
*It is based on a book by Miyuki Miyabe which is now available in the US. There is also a manga series and a PSP game based loosely on the book as well.
*Really awesome animation, but really nasty CG.
*The super limited set is totally worth the $100 I spent on it. -Annaliese

== Capsule Description ==

Duck is just that--an ordinary duck. But one day, she gains the ability to transform into Princess Tutu to gather the shattered pieces of prince Mytho's heart and fight against the monster raven who broke it.

This is a downright adorable show...and it stays that way, even though it starts to get dark towards the end. The characters are almost all likeable (except for a few minor ones) and the story is beautiful.

*I had never heard so many males excited about ballet before. It's really cute to hear all the guys (just the guys mind you) gasp and squeal, "PRINCESS TUTU!" when I put the disc in. Of course, the girls are just as excited. I'm very happy we decided to show this wonderful show.

* Unfortunately, the American version does not have the original Duran Duran opening theme song "Girls on Film." Instead, it uses the song "Shutter Speed."
* Saiga blows stuff up with a camera. How cool is that?
* This show is NOT for children because it contains sexual situations, tons of crazy violence, and foul language.
