2015 Officer Elections!

It's about time to elect new officers for the next school year. If you are running, prepare a speech to give to club on the first Saturday of Spring Quarter: April 4. You'll want to introduce yourself (tell us your favorite anime and such) and explain why you wanna be that position(s), and why you'd be a good fit for it/them. This is definitely low-pressure though! We are all friends here and want to work together to make Minna awesome!

What we need from you (that we can populate the online voting system with):
  • Full Name
  • Position(s) running for
  • Speech (can be different for each position)
  • Image (optional)
  • What anime you'd like to show in club and/or your favorite anime
Email the above info to minna-no-anime@minnanoanime.org and/or bring it in when you run. Preferably emailed though.

I will now explain the various duties of the even more various officer positions. Note: You can run for multiple positions, and members will vote for the positions in the order I have them listed here.

General Duties:
  • Decide the lineup for the year. This often involves lots of debate and time spent previewing different shows. You definitely don't have to be an anime expert!
  • Modify format of club, like officer positions or the show schedule.
  • Work the WoW club showcase booth
  • Organize and run Halloween Party, which involves creating the anime games and doing party-organizing things.
  • Go to most meetings, within reason of course.
  • Work the Open House booth, which normally sells "CHOCOBO" skewers and rice but we're doing onigiri this year.
President:
  • Breaks ties on things.
  • Is important
  • Signs the charter (Must be a student not on academic probation!)
  • Usually runs club
  • Is main correspondent with ASI and our advisor Dr. Brown.
Vice President:
  • Is acting President if something terrible happens to him/her.
  • In charge of advertising ventures
  • Supports President in their duties.
Treasurer:
  • Holds the C@$H box
  • Fills out Payment Request Forms
  • Takes money for things like shirts and membership
  • Signs the charter (Must be a student not on academic probation!)
Secretary:
  • Writes the emails
  • Takes down meeting notes at officer meetings
  • Is VERY timely with writing the emails
Webmaster:
  • Is bequeathed due to prerequisite technical skills. Talk to Nicole "Mouse" Martin if you'd be interested in doing this in the future.
Artist:
  • Draws the signs for club meetings. Also draws advertising materials if need be. You don't have to draw something new every week! This is totally low-stress.
  • I'm not gonna lie, there have been many "6th Officer" positions, and this is the latest revision.
  • You don't need to be a good artist as long as you can draw something funny or relevant. We have been privileged to have the presence of Phyllis Douglas for a while now, and you definitely don't have to hit that level of awesome.
  • But you should bring some art to your speech so people have a reason to vote for you.

Alumni:
  • This is an optional position for one of our older members who live in town and come to meetings. There has historically been interest by them to help the officers out with various things, so this is for that! The old are wise, and you would do well to remember that.
  • Must have been a club member 4 or more years ago, and must not currently be a student. This has some leeway so ask if you're interested.
